Terms of use
This version took effect on 16 Oct 2026.
These terms explain the rules for using Empathia. By playing as a guest or creating an account you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent, guardian or teacher.
The short version
- Empathia is a learning game, not therapy and not a test of who you are.
- Be kind and honest, keep your password private, and do not try to see other people’s information.
- Your reflections belong to you. The learning content belongs to us; you may use it for personal and classroom learning.
- If you or someone else is in danger, contact a trusted adult or an emergency service straight away.
1. About these terms
Empathia is provided by [operator name], [operator address] (“we”, “us”). These terms, together with our privacy notice, form the agreement between you and us. If a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for a child, they agree on the child’s behalf and are responsible for supervising the child’s use.
2. What Empathia is — and is not
Empathia offers stories, scenarios, conversations, lessons and optional real-world missions for practising empathy skills.
- It is educational. It is not medical, psychological or counselling advice, and it does not replace a doctor, counsellor, teacher or other professional.
- XP, levels and badges celebrate practice. They do not measure your worth, diagnose anything or prove how empathetic you are in real life.
- Kindness missions are always optional. Never do anything that feels unsafe, and choose the imaginative version whenever you prefer.
3. If you need help now
If you are worried about your safety or someone else’s, talk to a trusted adult. In India you can also call:
- 112 — national emergency number
- 1098 — CHILDLINE, for children who need care and protection
- 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 — Tele-MANAS, free mental-health support
Empathia cannot respond to emergencies and does not read reflections, so please do not use it to ask for urgent help.
4. Who can use Empathia
- Anyone can play as a guest. Choose the learning path that fits your age.
- Creating an account on these paths needs a parent’s or guardian’s email and agreement: Little Hearts (Ages 5–8), Growing Together (Ages 9–12), Real World (Ages 13–17).
- Schools that use PrayagEdu Games may give students access through their school account; the school’s own rules also apply.
5. Your account
- Give a real email address that you (or your guardian) can access. Use a nickname, not your full name.
- Keep your password private and do not share your account. Tell us at [contact email] if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
6. Using Empathia respectfully
Please do not:
- try to access another person’s progress, reflections or account, or an administrator area you are not allowed in;
- interfere with the service, test its security without our written permission, overload it or use automated tools to collect content;
- try to change scores or progress other than by playing normally;
- send content reports that are abusive or contain other people’s personal information;
- copy, sell or publish the learning content except as allowed in section 8.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, after telling the account holder where possible.
7. Your reflections and reports
What you write in reflections belongs to you. We store it only so that you can read, edit, export or delete it; we do not publish it, show it to other users or administrators, or use it for any other purpose. When you send a content report, you allow us to use it to review and improve the learning content.
8. Our content
The stories, scenarios, lessons, missions, illustrations, software and design of Empathia belong to [operator name] or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use them for personal, non-commercial learning, and teachers may use them with their own classes. Any other use needs our written permission.
9. Points and badges
XP, levels, badges and garden items have no money value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and may be adjusted if they were earned by misuse or because of an error.
10. Changes and availability
We work to keep Empathia available and your progress safe, but we may need to pause it for maintenance, and we may change, add or remove activities. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as network or power failures.
11. Our responsibility to you
Empathia is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that cannot be limited, including your rights under consumer-protection and data-protection laws in India.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. If a dispute cannot be resolved, the courts at [city of jurisdiction] have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer commission or the Data Protection Board of India.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will show a message in Empathia before the change takes effect. If you continue to use Empathia after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
